I was a posh, plump boy, growing up in North Kensington in the early 1970’s. I would walk past buildings and listen to the music that I would never hear at home. Kinda intimidating, totally fantastic; Dub reggae. I remember going to see Max Romeo and Roy Shirley play with U-Roy in North London when I was 12 years old. No one else I knew understood my beguilement. Still love U-Roy as much today as ever; sound track of my life.
